About the Study

In Indonesia, the societal expectation of marriage often results in couples entering into matrimony without a clear understanding of their motivations. This can leave them ill-prepared for complexities and challenges that come with married life. To address this issue, we aim to develop the Indonesia's first comprehensive premarital assessment tool, sensitive to Indonesian cultural norms. The tool, known as TES SELARAS, aims to identify the strengths and growth areas of couples, enabling them to navigate their relationship and anticipate potential challenges. TES SELARAS is not intended to measure compatibility, but rather to assist couples in thriving in their marriage.

The study received grant from Indonesian Ministry for Higher Education, with grant no: 105/E5/PG.02.00.PL/2024. The ethical aspect of the study has been evaluated by Research Ethics Committee of the Faculty of Psychology Universitas Diponegoro (no: 322/UN7.F11/PP/VIII/2024).
